peaceful morning in stillwater

I was working at a wedding the other day in stillwater and it was the first time I have gone ..without family -without anyone.  As a child I remember going up there every year around the fall because the trees are absoultely beautiful and my parents liked to take us for a weekend getaway.  The drive up was peaceful but  it was strange going all alone. I spent the morning working on the bride and 4 bridesmaids as they ate cake in the hotel suite and gossiped about men and food and beauty.  I got to hear old stories about how they all knew each other. I love weddings..their always so fun -and everyone is anxious and happy.

As I was leaving..I tried to capture a few pictures to show just how breathtaking the trees were.. this picture is along the st.croix river. It looks NOTHING like it did to actually be there.. but it was beautiful and I didn't want to leave that day

Lately things have been a little stressful..but strangely peacful all at the same time. I have found a few versus that I have read these many times before but stand out to help  at this time and those are..

Matthew 6:25 [ Do Not Worry ] "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

This verse has stood out to me time after time.. and it is good to reflect on because I feel like often times we lose focus of whats really important and get hung up worrying about the stresses of day to day life. I know I get so wrapped up in things and have to pry myself away from things of the world.

Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

I love this verse patience has been tested so much lately. I have to remember that I am a child of God.. a woman of God.. and I am doing things for his glory not my own.
