Today I couldn't start a post without sharing a few of my recent thoughts.
How often do you get a comment on your inner beauty? Much of the focus (especially around women) is..."oh you look good", "great hair", "cute outfit"..etc etc. But, how often is it that we tell someone they are beautiful on the inside, or even..."that was really patient of you", "that was really kind of you".
Well, today while working with an older woman there were many customers that kept flooding in. I had to tell the woman that I had to step away and help others but I would be right back. She was very patient...and when I went back over to her, we started talking about many things (not just makeup). After I helped her find the correct foundation and we had been talking for a while...I rung up her purchases at the register. As she left she said to me , "you are a beautiful girl on the inside and out." I nearly started crying. It was so sweet and so kind and I thought that it was just about the nicest thing anyone had said to me in a long time. I had only known her for 30 minutes.
This all made me think...we should put more focus on complimenting women on their inner strengths and beautiful inner traits. It REALLY makes a person feel good.
Now, for Badger Balm. Interesting name huh? Well I'm talking about the company called Badger. It is a family run, family friendly business. It began when a carpenter couldn't find anything to heal his dry, cracked hands. He whipped up a healing balm made of natural ingredients...and it worked! After that the company was born.
Badger's mission is to "create fabulously pure and effective products of the highest natural quality, based on simplicity and thoughtful preparation, with the intention to soothe and heal.- Badger
I recently tried 2 different colors of their " Lip Tints and Shimmers" They are made with Fair Trade Certified Cocoa Butter and are meant to provide color and shimmer while healing and protecting the lips. I have to say- I am a makeup artist...so I LIKE that they have a tint. I usually go for lip products that have SOME color...not just plain stuff. I like to add colors to my lips.. and a little shimmer doesn't hurt either.
Along with cocoa butter, these lip tints have olive oil, beeswax and aloe vera- all natural ingredients.
Although I wear a lot of things that are "not natural"....I do really like the feeling of putting a product on that is made with all natural ingredients. Here are some things I liked:
- I felt GOOD about putting this on my lips.
- It stayed on for a long time.
- I liked that it had a tint on one side and a shimmery balm on the other. (VERY CUTE! and CLEVER)
- Great Value!- $6.50 for a pretty large tube.
- Come in 4 very different shades!
Other things I noticed:
- These are supposed to be technically "fragrance free" and I agree that there is no strong fragrance however it does smell a bit like cocoa butter,(which is not necessarily a bad thing).
- The lip tints are great for outdoors. Say you want to protect your lips but add a hint of color. These are perfect.
- They are not however something I could see a makeup artist using in their kit.

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
