Hey Everyone, I don't know how many times I've been asked, "Is there any easy way to not make a mess of my face when I do a smokey eye?" " How do I keep shadow from falling on my cheeks when I'm doing my eye makeup?"
Well, here's what I do....
I either do my eye makeup first before I apply any foundation , concealer or powder. Or, After I put on undereye concealer I brush a thick layer of MAC's translucent loose powder under my eyes with a brush. Then if any shadow falls it can be easily brushed away with a brush. ANOTHER way to do it is to take a light concealer and use a brush to wipe any shadow away and conceal your under eyes at the same time. (ALL THREE HAVE WORKED FOR ME.)
BUT!.....There is yet another way. They're called "Shadow Shields." I got a first hand try at these guys.
These come in a box of 30 and are $12.99 on www.shadowshields.com
- Self adhesive-all you do is peel and stick and they come off easily and gently.
- No Mess- They eliminate any mess that falls under the eye and leaves your undereye clean.
- Soft- the material is actually cushiony. It's soft and flexible.
These DEFINITELY eliminate any mess or fallout under the eye. *** I think these are great for makeup artists who are doing shows and photo shoots that require quick makeup or dramatic makeup. It's also great for the average makeup wearer who has trouble applying shadow because they fear the mess under their eyes.
I will use these in my makeup kit when I do freelance jobs. I have a hard time using them everyday for my usual routine but if I was doing a special smokey or elaborate eye, I would use these!
You can check out the website for more information, again it is www.shadowshields.com
Next, have you ever heard of Yu-Be??? Well I hadn't until a few weeks ago when I was browsing Sephora's website. It said , "The #1 Selling Medicated, Vitamin-Enriched Skin Care Cream in Japan today!"
I knew that I wanted to try this because I love anything that will make my skin extra soft and smooth. I also like trying beauty products that other countries love. I feel like it gives you a little more insight to the beauty world.
After working with Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream I realized a few things. One, it is a lot like Vaseline in smell especially. It feels very rich and hydrating but it's better than Vaseline in that it is not as greasy. (It's more like a Vaseline intense hydrating cream). The color of the cream is like a pearlescent yellow.
HAHA. I tried to find something that is close to the color because I didn't have a picture. This pearl bracelet looks like the color of Yu-be moisturizing cream.
I like to use it on my legs and feet even before I take a shower....because it leaves them really hydrated and soft. I haven't tried it on my face yet but I think I might. (A friend of mind was talking about Vaseline face masks...so I think this might be something I would have an easier time trying on my face than Vaseline, since it is less greasy.) I tried it on my lips and didn't care for it since it has that really strong Vaseline type smell.
Here is the website for you all to take a look www.yu-be.com They sell Yu-be at Sephora now! So be on the lookout and give this a try if you like to use Vaseline for dry chapped skin.
