Krista's Eyelash Extension Story/ Before and After Photos

Hey Everyone! Here is my client Krista's eyelash story. There a huge lesson to this one so I wanted to share it with all of you!

This is a perfect example of why NOT to go get your lash extensions done if they only cost $25. Always ask plenty of questions, and ask to see before and after photos of the eyelash extension specialist’s work before you get them done. You need to know what you are getting into, because all eyelash products out there are not the same. Here is Krista’s testimonial:

“My eyelashes are thin and straight so I decided to have fake eyelashes put on at a nail salon. They were a disaster; not only were they clumpy and fake looking, but they hurt my eyes. When I tried to remove them, it was almost impossible and pulled my real eyelashes out with them. I went to Lauren for help and she gently removed my eyelashes from the mess of  lash extension clusters on my eyes. She put lash extensions on my eyes to thicken my lashes, fill in the gaps, and add length. They look beautiful, natural, and dark, with just the right amount of curl and length. I don’t even need to wear make up! Lauren is great and provides the perfect mix of personal attention and professionalism.”

Erica~ What Eyelashes Look Like Before and After a "Fill" Appointment

Hey Guys! Today I wanted to show you all what eyelash extensions often look like before you get them filled, and then what they should look like after a fill. I get a lot of questions about “fill” appointments. A fill is your appointment that helps you maintain your eyelash extensions. Since extensions will fall out gradually, usually people need a fill on average of 3-4 weeks. Those of you that have had a full set before, if you go into your service provider with eyelashes still on, you will have something called a “fill” instead of a full set. Fill’s usually range from $80- $150 depending on the type of lash you need applied. :)

Erica just got her eyelashes filled and I wanted to show you guys what they looked like before and after. The photo that you will see is Erica’s lashes about 4-5 weeks grown out.

Here’s what Erica had to say:

“Thank you Lauren for doing such an awesome job, you are one of the kindest people I have ever met.  These things are life changing! I have had mine done now for about 6 or 7 months, (by Lauren) and I am so happy I started them.

I had them done before by someone else in Minneapolis and it looked like I had only 5 on each eye. Honestly, there was NO WAY I could have made those things look good. So, I went into Lauren after a co-worker had referred me. I waited 2 weeks for the 10 that I did have, to fall off so I could start fresh.

I have been a stylist for the last 12 years and I currently own my own company as well as rent a spot to do hair. Make up has NEVER been this easy! I don’t even need much now! At least that’s how I feel about it. I also have 3 young boys and need to be able to go anywhere in a hurry. Having the eyelash extensions makes me feel like I can go anywhere fast, because I don’t need much make up. Thanks Lauren! ” ~Erica Conlon, December 2011BEFORE Erica's FillAfter Erica's fill

Tia's Before and After Eyelash Extensions

Hey Everyone,

IT IS SO COLD HERE IN MINNE(SNOW)TA!!  We have been so fortunate with not much snow this year. I mean I love snow and all but I really dislike driving in it. So, I have considered this winter to be pretty descent so far but I am not prepared for these arctic temps!!!!

Today, I want to share Tia's before and after story. She was new to eyelash extensions completely. She had used strip lashes several times before and really liked those, but it was fun to see what lash extensions could do for her eyes. She was in Minneapolis for Christmas and decided to get her lashes done. Here is her testimonial , and her before and after photos.

“First and foremost I want to give a big thanks to Lauren! I had never had eyelash extensions before and she made my fist time relaxing and fun!

I started experimenting with strip lashes back in college, wearing them for special occasions or when me and my girls went out for a night on the town. But over the years I’ve gone from wearing them once an awhile to wearing them daily. My real lashes are so short that mascara doesn’t do much for volume or length, so fake lashes make me feel more comfortable and help me achieve a more desired look. I have been interested in semi-permanent lashes for some time now, but always wanted my initial experience done by someone I knew and trusted. I currently live in Washington state but was visiting Minnesota over the holidays and Lauren was wonderful and found time to fit me in! She was so helpful and covered every angle before we began the actual process. She left no room for doubt and patiently answered every single question.

I am beyond pleased with my results!!! They look natural and are definitely worth having done at least once (: She did an amazing job and I would highly recommend that anyone interested in the procedure get in touch with Lauren Pavelka.

I will certainly be making another appointment next time I’m visiting the Midwest! Thanks again Lauren,  for making my lashes look beautiful!” -Tia Shankey 2011

Where do you find your Inspiration to Create? MissGlamorazzi Music Video

Hey Guys, This is kind of a different post than your used to seeing, but I figured I can do a few of these from time to time. What I will be doing is showing you a look I created with my hair/makeup/accessories etc that I got from some outside source of inspiration.

Yesterdays inspiration was Ingrid (MissGlamorazzi) on YouTube. If you guys are not clued into the You Tube world, and you don't know who she is, she's a really adorable, amazingly talented YouTube Vlogger. I recently got addicted to her videos when she did something called "Vlogmas" where she vlogged every day of December until Christmas.

It's almost like watching a really great reality show and her main guy friend "Luke" who also has a YouTube Channel was in almost every one of her videos. Turns out, they are now dating and they also do music videos together. It's so cute and definitely makes good entertainment!

Their latest music video was a re-make of "Back to December" by Taylor Swift. I really liked Ingrid's, hair and makeup in this video and it inspired my "look of the day". Here is the video. Watch it if you have not seen it! And, I highly recommend both Ingrid and Luke's Vlog Channels on You tube. They are vlogging every day of 2012, and they are really fun to watch!!

Here's the video:

And here are some photos of the look I created based off Ingrid's style in the video:

Have a great night everyone!!

Merry Christmas to you! LOVE Lauren..

Hey Everyone!! Merry Merry Christmas!!! I woke up early.. this is the first year that I did not wake up with my parents and brother on Christmas morning. But, this year I woke up with my husband and  cute kitty (Bear). I guess I'm growing up. But, it's all good... last night the whole fam came over to our new apartment and spent a few hours eating, laughing and exchanging gifts.

Christmas has always been a magical time of year for me and my family and I think people across the world everywhere. It is the most celebrated holiday, the most commercialized holiday, and the one that has the most traditions and gifts. It's honestly fabulous... and many of us wish that it could be Christmas every day of the year. For me, I'd wish that mostly so that I never had things I was obligated to do. Christmas is a day where you can really do whatever you want to do.

Anyway, I just wanted to with you all a very Happy Christmas Day and to be very blessed in all that you do, with family, friends and in the days activities. I appreciate all of you who pay attention to my blog. Writing is my passion, and I am so very blessed to have some of the supportive people in my life that I do.

With that I'd like to share a poem I found that truely expresses what I want to say to you all today:

Don't Forget Jesus

Christmas is a special time To reflect on Jesus Christ The wonder of His lowly birth Brings meaning to our lives

There really is no other reason We celebrate this day The birth of God's precious son And the life He willingly gave

But so much seems to distract us In the busy-ness of our lives We lose our focus in all the happenings Not knowing, we leave out Christ

We lose sight of the true meaning As we endlessly rush about Trying to find that perfect gift Seems to cloud our Saviour out

We need to stop and reflect awhile Remembering our precious Lord His birth, His life and sacrifice And all that He stands for

For though the world may celebrate It seems though for other reasons Let's keep in mind that Jesus Christ Is the true meaning of the season

Last Minute Holiday Deals and Gift Ideas Part 2

Hey Everyone!

Lyrics by the Inspirational India Arie:

There's Hope

Back when I had a little I thought that I needed a lot A little was over rated, but a lot was a little too complicated You see-Zero didn't satisfy me A million didn't make me happy That's when I learned a lesson That it's all about your perception Hey-are you a pauper or a superstar So you act, so you feel, so you are It ain't about the size of your car

It's about the size of the faith in your heart

There's hope It doesn't cost a thing to smile You don't have to pay to laugh You better thank God for that There's hope

Off in the back country of Brazil A met a young brother that made me feel That I could accomplish anything. You see just like me he wanted to sing He had no windows and no doors He lived a simple life and was extremely poor On top of all of that he had no eye sight, but that didn't keep him from seein' the light He said, what's it like in the USA, and all I did was complain He said-livin' here is paradise He taught me paradise is in your mind You know that

Every time I turn on the T.V. (There's Hope) Somebody's acting crazy (There's Hope) If you let it, it will drive you crazy (There's Hope) but I'm takin' back my power today (There's Hope) Gas prices they just keep on rising (There's Hope) The government they keep on lying but we gotta keep on surviving Keep living our truth and do the best we can do

I used to have this song as my phone ringtone about 5 years ago... i heard it the other day and it made me think that it's a good song lyric to remember at this time. Christmas time...when we should be thankful for what we have and not focused on what we still need.

So it's the EVE before Christmas Eve... and I still have some last minute gift ideas for anyone needing a girly kind of gift, or stocking stuffer.

  • Spongeables. I've said it before, I'll say it again. I love this company! These sponges are already loaded with soap and you can get tons of uses out of them. They make great soap/sponges for travel or for at home. I have a few Christmas ones that I am absolutely in love with...Christmas shapes for the Christmas season. You can find these at stores like ULTA, WAL MART and RITE AID.

  • Another gift Idea is Tocca fragrances that are found at Anthropology stores. Fragrance always makes a wonderful gift because it's something you can really get a lot of use out of. Some girls are picky but others like a variety of fragrances so something with an ornate bottle for on top of a vanity is always a lovely gift. I love the Tocca brand because of the beautiful packaging as well as wonderful product scents. Anthropology stores carry Tocca frangrances along with other wonderful unique gift ideas for the trendy girl.

  • Ulta stores always have great deals this time of year. Right now, if you spend $30 or more on a fragrance you get a free bathrobe. It seems like every time I go into an Ulta store they have some kind of great deals on cosmetics, hair, or nail products. Love this store.
  • Barnes and Noble is my home away from home. I think any girl/woman  could find a book, or magazine that they would like at this store. They also have really cute office supplies, journals and music if the person you're buying for doesn't enjoy reading. But a good book or journal is always a memorable gift. :)
  • Sephora. I could go on and on about things to find in this store...they have something for every budget. The Sephora by OPI nail polish make great stocking stuffers. Sephora always has a section of smaller (less priced) product items by the registers. Check those out too!

Have a wonderful day shopping or with family and friends! I'm going to go enjoy mine.
