Moisture Rich Shampoo and Conditioner for Dry Hair

Hey Guys!! The winter has taken a toll on my hair. The last couple months, it has felt super dry. So, for the last couple weeks I have been on the hunt for shampoo and conditioner that could revive my hair and bring it back to its silky smooth days… :)

I have two sets of shampoo and conditioner, both are my current favorites because they have left my hair softer, silkier and more manageable.

The first is Philip Kingsley’s Moisture Extreme Shampoo and Conditioner. This stuff is serious business. I can tell almost immediately that it is helping to mend my split ends and dry strands. The conditioner makes my hair immediately silky. I leave the conditioner on for an extra 5 minutes or so to make my hair super soft. Both shampoo and conditioner are in the $20 range.

The other brand is John Frieda’s new Root Awakening Purify and Nourish Shampoo and Conditioner. This shampoo and conditioner smell amazing and make my scalp and hair feel hydrated, refreshed, clean and silky. I am super picky when it comes to my conditioner. And,  usually I don’t like a shampoo unless the conditioner that goes with it is amazing. This duo is fantastic, and I would definitely buy this again at my local Target.  Here’s what the John Frieda website says about this product,

  • “Invigorates and feeds from root to tip with a fresh tingle for bouncy, shiny, radiant hair that’s noticeably more resilient with every use.
  • With natural Eucalyptus and peppermint oil, this formula stimulates the scalp with a cool, tingling sensation. Massaging your scalp encourages circulation, which will wake-up healthier-looking new growth.
  • Gently cleans without stripping.”

Hope this helps if you are also looking for a really good moisture rich shampoo and conditioning duo. Thanks for reading!!

Who’s watching the Oscar’s tonight?!?? I can’t wait. I will definitely be reporting on the beauty and style I see on the red carpet.

Lush: Hottie Massage Bar and Daddy-O Violet Shampoo Review

Hey Guys! First things first... today is my sister's birthday!! Happy Birthday Jess! Love you bunches and bunches.

I have written about a couple of Lush products before. Lush is the fresh handmade cosmetics line that is known for the bath products! To date, my favorite product I have tried from lush is the Ocean Salt face polish scrub. I have a blog post about it here:

I recently tried the Hottie Massage Bar. It definitely has a great shape for a massage ...the little bumps within it prove that. Here is a photo:

This bar is infused with black pepper, vanilla and ginger. It smells absolutely delicious. I was very excited about using this but have to say that the bar doesn't last very long. The bumps were used up within about 3 uses which left me with just a flat massage bar. Also, the bar leaves a somewhat sticky greasy feeling on the skin. I think it is supposed to leave a hydrated almost "lotioned up" feeling on your skin which it does. My skin didn't feel dry after using this but it felt a little sticky. I didn't like that.

The positives of this bar are its delicious smell and the cute design which massages your skin in the first couple uses. But, the sticky feeling and how long it lasted were not positives in my opinion.

The other product I recently tried was the Daddy-O violet shampoo. I love violet shampoos for keeping my hair bright and vibrant. This did not disappoint.

I love the packaging, name and smell of this!! The first thing that was very apparent was the rich lather that you get with it and the absolutely amazing violet smell. I wish all of my shampoos smelled this good. I absolutely LOVE the smell of violet.

There is lemon and lime juice in this product which help add a glossy shine to the hair. This product is for someone with grey or blonde hair and want a brighter color!

The only downside to the Daddy-O shampoo is the price. It is $27.95 for a 16.9 fl oz. But, this is really a great product. And, I really enjoyed the way it left a nice scent to my hair even after blowdrying.

I would recommend the hair products, bath bombs, face scrubs from Lush based off of my experience with them so far.  It looks like they have some really cute things out for Easter!!

Have any of you tried Lush? What's your favorite product? I'd love to get some recommendations!!

My "Best of Beauty" for October

Hi Everyone! I can't believe November is already here. The holiday festivities are about to begin and this is by far my favorite time of year. I have a new name for my favorites of the month. I will call them my "best of beauty" for _____ month. So, each month you can expect me to put my favorites.

Best of beauty will include make-up, skin care, hair products, beauty tools...anything that can be beauty related. These are MY opinions.  It is always so hard to choose but I will base it off of what I've tested and tried and love.

So, let's put October behind us and take a look at the products I've been loving!!

ManeTamer by T3. This hair straightener works fast , heats up fast , and get's my hair super smooth in seconds. To see my full review on this go to my T3 Review: Find the T3 products at their website:

Mark Anthony Style Straight Iron Shine. This shine spray protects my hair from heat and leaves it shiny and straight. I have been spraying this on my dry hair before I straighten to give it long-lasting shine. I have not done a full review on this product and plan on it in the future. Find this product on the Marc Anthony hair care website:

Mark Anthony Style Straight Iron Shine

Environ AVST 1 Moisturizer. I have been using this moisturizer every day before I apply my makeup. It contains a low-level of vitamin A and powerful antioxidants to combat free radicals, repair and rejuvenate skin. This is different from the AVST moisturizer I have talked about before in my august favorites. Here is a link to that review. Here's where you can find this product:

LuMesh Lipgloss. I've been addicted to these glosses since I started using them. They are creamy, moisturizing, plumping, vitamin infused, give good color and have a  mirror for application on the back . Check out these glosses at :

SigMAX kabuki brushes. Sigma has introduced two new brushes, a round top, slanted top kabuki. They already had a flat top kabuki and just added 2 more to the mix. These brushes are Amazing. They are soft, and well made. Great for getting makeup to look flawless and airbrushed. Here is the link where you can find these brushes!

100 % Pure Coffee Bean caffeine Eye Cream. If you guys don't know already...I am in love with this company. The 100 % pure products have been amongst my favorites of everything I have tried in the last few months. Their Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream is wonderful. I use it every morning as it helps make my eyes look and feel more awake! Here is the link to their website: They have the most delicious scented products and adorable packaging.

SOHO Beauty Cases. Love these cases for travel and storing makeup and products. The best part is, they're affordable!! You can find them at TARGET! Take a look on their website here:

Whew!!!!! Did you think it would never end? I had a lot of "best of's"  this month, and probably even more I could name. One more thing I don't want to forget is my cat BEAR. He is , of course, a "best of" my life. :)

Bear cat :)

I'm impressed by Sally Hershberger

Hey Guys! I am not the type of girl who spends a lot of money on shampoo and conditioner. I don't spend a lot of money on hair care in general for that matter. I guess that's because,well... hair care products are expensive!! And, if I can use my Thermasilk from Target I'll do that to save money.  But, the thing is, I do notice a HUGE difference when I use nice products on my hair. And, I wish there were more professional lines that weren't so expensive.

I recently got the opportunity to use some Sally Hershberger Products. I have seen her products in stores before and noticed them because of the bright, funky packaging! Look! It's Very eye-catching.

I was sent multiple products to try for my hair type. Normal to thin. Sally makes a few different lines specified to YOUR hair type. There is Normal to Thin, Normal to thick, Wavy, and All.

I am going to show and tell you which products I currently love and most importantly share with you these two things about the brand:

  • It feels like you are using expensive hair care...everything from the smell, to the texture and way they are applied, and bottles are designed, feels like GOOD quality.
  • Next, the products are not that expensive. As far as hair care goes, these are kinda middle of the road. Shampoo and Conditioner retail for $9.50 a piece.

The Shampoo and Conditioner for Normal to Thin Hair.

I just love the way these look! The packaging is adorable. Any color paired with GOLD in my opinion makes it look very classy and cool. Plus, these smell great, and leave my hair feeling clean , soft and easy to brush through.

Go With The Blow Thermal Styler. I am crazy about this product. I have been using it each time before I use a hair dryer or straightener.  Makes my hair less frizzy when I use heat. The gel is light, smells nice and has no color. It's not sticky and easy to pump and apply through ends of hair.

Hyper Hydration Super Keratin Spray. This is another one of the products that I just ABSOLUTELY love. My hair has been stressed lately. It's dry because winter is coming... and I can never get too much moisture in it. It feels like it detangles, softens and heals my tangly , damaged hair. I use this almost every time after I shower if I can't comb through my hair.

All of these products can be found on the Sally Hershberger Website:

Otherwise, they are sold also at select Ulta stores, Ricky's NYC, Shoppers Drugmart, DuaneReade and more...

Here is a fun video of Sally Hershberger herself (I found this on Youtube):
